||LaRocca Vineyards was born in 1984 when Philip and Judy began farming 110 acres of unkept Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot wine grapes, on Doe Mill Ridge in Forest Ranch, California. We transformed the vineyard to a thriving, successful certified organic operation. LaRocca Vineyards is located at 2600 feet elevation on the lower southern slopes of Mount Lassen, where the soil is rich in minerals. The water source is pure, straight from the snow melt of Mt. Lassen. Combining this amazing location and Philip’s master organic growing skills, we have sold grapes to such icons as Parducci Family Winery and Fetzer Vineyards, while learning the art of organic wine making.
In 1991 LaRocca Vineyards released our first organic wine, under LaRocca Vineyards label. Keeping with his belief and passion, Philip LaRocca knew he would only make the purest wine with no chemicals, NO SULFITES. Today, two generations of LaRocca’s, along with our staff, relentlessly pursue organic wine perfection. With D. Tony LaRocca, and godson Nathan Hoffman farming alongside Philip in the vineyards, and daughter, Phaedra LaRocca Morrill, in the winery with her father, we have created a successful organic winery. Adding an additional 50 acres of estate-grown grapes, the LaRocca Vineyards wine brand continues to grow. We’ve added Pinot Noir, Barbera, and Zinfandel to our Forest Ranch vineyards. While pioneering the industry with the first domestic Organic Sparkling wine, with no sulfites detected. We take pride in being able to follow our dream and make high-quality wines with no chemicals.
