Based on the original recipe for Maker's Mark, Maker's 46 is a new version of an old favorite. To create this interesting spirit, fully matured Maker's Mark is removed from its barrel, so that ten wooden seared staves can be affixed to the inner paneling. Searing the staves caramelizes the sugars in the wood, adding a unique flavor that finishes on the front of the tongue.
