The fruit for our 2008 Napa Valley Merlot was grown primarily in the southern appellations of Napa Valley. The lower temperatures found in this region allow for a longer growing season and extended hang time, giving the wine the concentrated and rich fruit characteristics for which this growing region is gaining much acclaim.
| Wine maker notes |
| "The 2008 Merlot makes a beautiful first impressionwith a brilliant, clear ruby red hue. Aromas of dried cherry, brambly fruit, dark tobacco and earth lead to a very well balanced palate. Firm acidity supports fruit on the mid-palate with notes of dried herbs, cherry and currant. This wine showcases excellent intensity for Merlot, a medium bodied varietal.” -Joe Shirley |
