| Wine maker notes |
| This Cremant d’Alsace is a blend of Riesling, PinotBlanc and Pinot Auxerrois. Grown in the clay and limestone soils around Rouffach and Westhalten, the vines average 20 years old. The fruit is hand picked only when fully ripe. The grapes are whole-cluster pressed then fermented in barrels. The wine is kept on the lees for 12 months, before bottling where the secondary fermentation takes place. Their Cremant Brut is kept a minimum of 18 months sur-lattes before disgorging, ensuring a sparkling with both weight and acidity. A very fine mousse persists in the glass with notes of vanilla and pure fruit flavors in the nose. Round and easy to drink, the Rene Mure Cremant finishes fresh with nice length. |
