In 1973, the first estate grown and bottled range of wines released under the Wakefield name, and the Wakefield Estate Cabernet Sauvignon burst out of the starting blocks, winning gold medals at every national wine show. This proved to be a good omen - a reputation was forged then and continues today with the wine winning medals at national and international shows every year since. The range now includes Shiraz, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc and most recently, a Pinot Gris.

Ultimate Beverage Challenge 87 points (May 2012) Crisp and lively nose of passionfruit and gooseberries mark this New World Sauvignon Blanc. Zingy limeleaf and lemony acids make for a brisk opening, followed by more tropical and balsamic flavors. Bracing and refreshing. |
