Ehren Jordan and I met in 1990 when he first traveled to the Napa Valley fresh out of college, looking for a career in the wine business. Two years later, when I began Neyers Vineyards, Ehren moved to France. He relocated in the Northern Rhône Valley town of Cornas, where he went to work for Jean Luc Columbo, a local consultant and owner of a small, prestigious domaine. It was in Cornas that Ehren developed the love for Syrah that launched our subsequent decision to work with the grape variety at Neyers.
