Wine Spectator 92 points (Oct 17 2012) A ripe, polished red, featuring forward yet dense cassis, kirsch and raspberry reduction notes that remain fresh and focused, as savory hints of licorice, fine herbs and tobacco grace the long finish. Drink now through 2016.—N.W. |

| Concerning the concept of Terroir, the 1999 harvest of Casa Real has undoubtedly achieved the ultimate expression of a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine. The grapes were vinified with the intention of obtaining a full-extraction wine, resulting in a high concentration of rich fruit and tannins.
Casa Real 1999 is without a doubt a sophisticated and complex wine. The delicious taste of mature fruits like plums and black currants mesh with hints of leather, tobacco, vanilla and the aroma of cloves, gained from having spent 14 months in new French oak.
By definition, a classic of excellence.
Decanting before serving is suggested.
