Wine Advocate 92 points (Feb 2012) The 2010 Chardonnay is a big, rich wine layered with tangerine, apricots, flowers and honeysuckle. The 2010 spent 11 months in French oak barrels (90% new) with lees stirring once a week, both of which add to the volume and density of the fruit. Hints of sweet French oak wrap around the delineated, generous finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. Wine Spectator 94 points (Jun 30 2012) A tour de force, with layers of rich, smoky oak, fig, honeydew melon and baked, glazed apple, this weaves together a broad range of flavors, yet for all its size remains elegant and delicate. A roasted marshmallow aftertaste marks the finish. Drink now through 2019. 1,600 cases made. –JL |
