| Wine maker notes |
| One of the more proliferate grapes, Muscat is grownaround the world. In California, where days are warm and sunny, the varietal develops a juicy core with rich stone fruit flavors. The cool coastal evenings slow the grape’s development, leaving a bright, vibrant balance. It’s the ideal marriage, producing beautiful grapes that sparkle with flavor. To capture this stunning profile, we selected grapes from a variety of vineyards in warmer areas of Madera and Fresno for a ripe, luscious complexity, layered with the individual nuances from each vineyard.
With its high floral notes and appealing fruit character, Muscat was the ideal varietal for our pink wine. To retain its delicate and delightful profile, we cold fermented the grapes in stainless steel, keeping a sparkle of lively fruit. Just before the wine could complete fermentation, we chilled it further, leaving a lovely kiss of sweetness to round out the flavors. A touch of Barbera lifts the berry fruits and gives the wine its beautiful blush. |
