3 day lead-time required to confirm availability Why?

Felton Road is located in Bannockburn, Central Otago in New Zealand - the world's most southerly wine growing region. The wines - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling - are produced from the estate's 80 acres of vineyards, divided between three sites - Elms Vineyard, Cornish Point Vineyard and Calvert Vineyard. All three vineyards are farmed biodynamically. Winemaker Blair Walter's experience in Oregon and Burgundy has stood him in good stead, teaching him to coax the best out of the property's vines. His wines show polish, sophistication, complexity and exceptional depth of fruit.

Tasting notes
A densely textured wine with deep and complex tannins, notes of crushed roses and violets. Hints of spice are underpinned by notes of dried red fruit and dark berries that flirt in the background.

Technical notes
This parcel was planted in 1993 and sits on a gentle north-facing slope in the heart of The Elms Vineyard. Like its cousin Block 3, the grapes were 80% destemmed directly into open-top fermentors. Soaked for eight days before fermentation, the fruit was punched down by hand up to four times a day with a total time on skins of 21 days. The wine was pressed off and flowed directly into barrel where it aged for 16 months in French oak (35% new). Block 5 was racked twice, but not fined or filtered before bottling.
