A warm, inviting style of Cornas, with ganache and smoldering tobacco holding sway while layers of currant paste, plum sauce and steeped cherry fruit sit in reserve. The tobacco edge drives on the finish, leaving a mouthwatering feel despite its weight. Best from 2013 through 2023. 25 cases imported.-JM
Vivid purple. Aromas and flavors of dark berries, cola and candied flowers, with a spicy nuance that gains power with air. Juicy and precise, with impressive clarity, punch and persistence on the gently tannic, floral-tinged finish. On the elegant side for Cornas, with plenty of upfront appeal but the balance to age.

Other text
The vineyard belonging to Cornas holds a high reputation, and has done for very many years. Charlemagne, Saint Louis et Louis XVth are often referred to in context to Cornas. On the eve of the French Revolution people spoke of the " Black wine " produced in Cornas and in the 19th Century it was given equal rating with the wines of Chateauneuf du Pape. Similarly to Côte-Rotie and Condrieu, hard working conditions on the lands led to large scale rural exodus.
