St. Michael-Eppan Pinot Nero 750ml 2012
Sku: 1863617*

Founded in 1909, St. Michael-Eppan is one of the finest co-operatives in Alto Adige, Italy. Located in the village of the same name, the co-operative works with more than 350 growers, all of whom share a commitment to ecological balance and vineyard sustainability. Most of the fruit is sourced from vineyards situated at 984-1,640 feet in the southern Tyrol Appiano, Caldaro and Mazzon. The portfolio is divided into three categories: the Classic Line archetypes of their varietals and appellations with outstanding price to quality ratio; the Cru Line unique terroir based wines from extraordinary single vineyard sites and Sanct Valentin top tier wines from rigorously selected grapes. In 2000, Gambero Rosso named St. Michael-Eppan as the best Italian winery of the year and its long-time winemaker Hans Terzer as one of the ten best winemakers in the world.

Tasting notes
Robust aromas of forest fruits, blackberries and blackcurrants are underlined by balanced acidity and a streak of minerality.

Technical notes
Fruit from vineyards in Appiano and Caldaro was fermented in stainless steel.
