Racy and pure, with a chiseled, chalky frame around the edges of the damson plum, black cherry and violet core. A twinge of iron leaves a tangy feel. Syrah. Drink now. 420 cases imported.-JM

Deep ruby. Smoky, spice-tinged cherry and blackberry on the nose, along with hints of olive and cola. Spicy, faintly medicinal dark fruit flavors gain sweetness with air and pick up a sexy floral nuance. Pretty serious for a Cotes-du-Rhone, finishing with suave sweetness and smooth, well-judged tannins that add gentle grip.
Wine Advocate 90 points (Dec 2013)
Already in bottle and made from 100% Syrah, the 2012 Cotes du Rhone Les Peyrouses is a fresh, lively and supple effort that gives up ample plum, black raspberry and mineral notes to go with surprising depth and richness on the palate. Showing outstanding length, this smoking value should be purchased by the case and consumed over the coming 4-5 years.

Wine maker notes
