Macmurray Ranch Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2012

Macmurray Ranch Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 750ml 2012

Slightly better than the Central Coast cuvee is the 2012 Pinot Noir Russian River. It has a deeper ruby color with cherry fruit, rose petals, forest floor and a whiff of oak. Aged for eight months in a combination of French and American oak (25% new and 75% neutral), it is a big production cuvee of 60,000 cases, and is best drunk over the next several years.

An outstanding value, the delicious 2012 Pinot Gris possesses lots of crisp apple blossom and orange rind characteristics. This naked, mid-weight, dry white is a fresh, lively, excellent example of this varietal. The good news is that there are nearly 11,000 cases of it. Enjoy it over the next year.

Wine maker notes
A classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, this wine shows rich flavors of red and black fruit. A portion was aged in new French oak barrels to highlight the delicate aromas and flavors of the Pinot Noir grape. The subtle oak complements the deep black cherry notes in our wine, adding richness and depth to the finish. This earthy wine has nuances of brown spice that make it a perfect foil for rack of lamb, grilled salmon and Shiitake mushroom risotto.
