Castello di Gabbiano Alleanza 2010

Castello di Gabbiano Alleanza 750ml 2010
Sku: 1887030*

The wine is obtained from the best grapes of the castle vineyards, which have recently been renewed (2000 and 2001). During the alcoholic fermentation process, techniques are applied that make it possible to obtain the best extraction in the most natural way. The crushing of the skins is protracted. The malolactic fermentation is carried out in new French oak barriques: during this long phase, the lees are stirred manually.

Polished on the surface, this shows an underlying firmness and structure. The cherry, plum, earth and spice flavors are enveloped by the tannic grip on the finish. Best from 2015 through 2023. 2,199 cases made.-BS
Gabbiano’s 2010 Alleanza, a Merlot/Cabernet blend, is quite pretty. Mocha, plums, blackberry jam, cloves and French oak all meld together in the glass. The style is opulent, fruit-driven and laced with considerable new French oak, but it all works nicely. The rich, resonant finish is especially appealing. The 2010 is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon/Franc.
This delicious Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend offers an alluring fragrance of blackberry, red currant and thyme punctuated by tarry, leather aromas. The palate shows ample plum flavor layered with chocolate and cinnamon accents, as well as round, polished tannins.
