Pali Wine Co. Pinot Noir Huntington 750ml 2012
Sku: 1899024*

Lompoc based Pali Wine Co., named for the Los Angeles suburb of Pacific Palisades, California, was founded in 2005 by Tim Perr and Scott Knight. Tim and Scott co-founded Perr & Knight, an insurance services firm, but it was Tim’s love of wine that sparked the creation of Pali Wines. Winemaker Aaron Walker oversees all aspects of the winery’s Lompoc production facility. Kenneth Juhasz, of Auteur Wines, is consulting winemaker. The portfolio is divided into two categories. The cuvee program explores appellation blends from California and Oregon, and the wines are named after different Pacific Palisades neighborhoods. The vineyard designate line offers Pinot Noirs from top vineyards like Inman Olivet, Keefer Ranch, Thorn Ridge Ranch in the Russian River Valley, Shea and Momtazi in Oregon’s Willamette Valley and Fiddlestix and Turner in the Santa Rita Hills.

Tasting notes
The medium-bodied, lush palate offers structured acidity on the long and pleasant finish.

Rating
 Wine Spectator 90 points (Jun 15 2014)
Notably floral and spicy, with firm tannins amid the dark berry, mocha, roasted herb and fresh-turned earth flavors. This is complex, dense and persistent, gaining depth and length. Drink now through 2022. 9,218 cases made. –JL

Technical notes
The wine is a blend of fruit grown in Santa Barbara, California and matured for 10 months in French oak barrels (30% new).
