Benoit Gautier Vouvray 2013

Benoit Gautier Vouvray 750ml 2013
Sku: 1917114*

Domaine Benoit Gautier is located in Vouvray, France and has been owned by the same family for seven generations. In 1981 Benoit Gautier took over winemaking and instituted domaine bottlings. The estate comprises 29 acres in the communes of Rochecorbon and Parcay-Meslay. The soil is classic Tuffeau (limestone chalk) and the average age of Benoit’s vines is 25 years old. Benoit hand-picks grapes for his still wines, but will pick 25% of the grapes he uses for his sparkling wines by machine. The grapes were pressed using a pneumatic press and fermented with natural yeast and matured in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Depending on the year, selected single vineyard wines will age in neutral oak casks.

Tasting notes
A light yellow color, the wine presents pleasing aromas of ripe Bartlett pear, with hints of apricot and stone fruit that are balanced by creamy and slightly sweet citrus flavors. The hint of sweetness is counterbalanced by proper acidity and the finish ends on a lovely bright note.

Technical notes
(100% Chenin Blanc). The wine matured on its fine lees in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 4-5 months. There is no malolactic fermentation.
