St. Michael-Eppan Riesling Montiggl 2013

St. Michael-Eppan Riesling Montiggl 750ml 2013
Sku: 1921330*

Founded in 1909, St. Michael-Eppan is one of the finest co-operatives in Alto Adige, Italy. Located in the village of the same name, the co-operative works with more than 350 growers, all of whom share a commitment to ecological balance and vineyard sustainability. Most of the fruit is sourced from vineyards situated at 984-1,640 feet in the southern Tyrol - Appiano, Caldaro and Mazzon. The portfolio is divided into three categories: the Classic Line - archetypes of their varietals and appellations with outstanding price to quality ratio; the Cru Line - unique terroir based wines from extraordinary single vineyard sites and Sanct Valentin - top tier wines from rigorously selected grapes. In 2000, Gambero Rosso named St. Michael-Eppan as the best Italian winery of the year and its long-time winemaker Hans Terzer as one of the ten best winemakers in the world.

Tasting notes
A dry Riesling with intense aromas of fresh peaches, the juicy acidity and minerality lend structure on the finish.

Technical notes
The vines are planted at 1,312 feet on southeastern facing slopes of loamy limestone and gravel soil. Fermented in stainless steel and aged five months on the fine lees.
