This wine is from Italy, Tuscany region, Bolgheri sub-region. Antinori has made terrific wines at their Guado al Tasso property for years. Even so, I was completely blown away by what I sampled in two recent tastings. The move towards a bit more finesse and less blowsiness in the wines is incredibly apparent. Leaving more foliage in the field and picking a bit earlier are some of the choices there are beginning to yield wines that offer notable freshness while still capturing all of the radiance that makes Bolgheri such a special place to grow grapes and make wine. From Tuscany New Releases: Maremma, Montepulciano & More (Apr 2018) by Antonio Galloni. 94-96 - The 2018 Guado al Tasso is still in barrel, but holds tremendous promise. Silky, perfumed, nuanced and distinctly medium in body, the 2018 had much to offer. This vintage is marked by strong floral, savory Cabernet Franc notes that play well off the wine's mid-weight structure. There is so much to look forward to. NON-VARIETAL RED BLEND Wine
