This wine is from Italy, Veneto region, Valpolicella sub-region. Located near Verona in the province of Veneto in northeast Italy, Casa Vinicola Bertani is one of the region's most important and influential wine producers. Bertani produces a full spectrum of the classic wines of the Veneto and has enjoyed a reputation for quality from the start.. The 1999 Amarone (70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 5% Molinara) offers a more expressive core of fruit than the 2000 with a lovely sense of perfumed inner sweetness that blossoms on the palate. It is also more advanced in its aromatics, with early tertiary leather and coffee bean flavors that have begun to develop. It is a very complete Amarone yet I would prefer to drink it within the next few years while the fruit still has some freshness.. 15.4% abv. Color - Deep garnet redBouquet - Generous aroma of freshly-picked cherries mingled with notes of sour cherries, vanilla and an agreeable trace of spicinessTaste - Dry, full-bodied and amply structured; cherries, red berries and a hint of vanilla lead into a dazzling finish of walnuts and hazelnuts CORVINA^RONDINELLA Wine
