Anne de Joyeuse Orchis is a 2024 Pinot Noir from Pays d'Oc in the Languedoc, France. The grapes come from the highest vineyards in the Vallée de l'Aude, where the cool Pyrenean climate and large swings between night and day temperatures prevail. Fruit is selected by parcel at moderate yields, then macerated for about 11 days with semi-manual punchdowns in stainless steel and fermented for 8 days at 24°C. The wine ages 6 months before bottling. It is very approachable, with a pronounced nose of red fruits and cherries, and suits an aperitif or tapas.
Cave Anne de Joyeuse is a cooperative winery in Limoux, founded in 1929 and now home to 650 members, directed by Guy Andrieu. Its growers follow procedures monitored by the cooperative's oenologists, with GPS tracking and satellite ripeness monitoring. Over 80 native orchid varieties have regenerated in their vineyards, hence the flower on the label.
