Champagne Canard-Duchêne, Cuvée V (2010): "V" like Victor Canard, who founded the Maison Canard-Duchêne in 1868. During the 2010 harvest, Laurent Fédou, cellar master of the House, was charmed by the quality and character of several plots of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from an exceptional terroir. He envisioned a wine that would mark Canard-Duchêne's 150th anniversary. He chose to release the 2010 vintage exclusively in magnum format as an extra brut style. This cuvée embodies the House's history and Laurent Fédou's savoir-faire. Blend: 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Meunier - includes Grands Crus such as Ambonnay, Aÿ and Chouilly Sugar content: less than 6 grams/liter Aging: 8 years Aromatics: Slightly toasted with pastry, baked lemon, and white floral notes Appearance: Straw gold and glossy with a ribbon of delicate bubbles Palate: Fresh and zesty with persistent & aromatic finish A word from our Cellar Master, Laurent Fédou: "The harvest began on September 13th for the earliest crus, the weather was dry and sunny. The terroirs of Ambonnay, Ay? and Rilly revealed their delicacy and intensity, complemented by subtle Pinot from the Co?te des Bar. The elegance and freshness of the Chouilly Chardonnay invigorated the Pinot."
