Powers Gold Label is a complex spice and honeyed taste experience. Every drop is triple distilled, with more cut from the top and tail of the second and third Pot Still charges. This means only the purest heart of the distillate is captured. Our distillate is then left to mature in select American oak casks which allows our Pot Still style whiskey to shine. Powers Gold Label is blended with the finest grain whiskey, also exclusively matured in American oak casks.. Ground cinnamon, coriander seed, nutmeg, mustard seed, spiced meat, and the saltiness of sand-encrusted seashells combine with a powerful honey note, fresh pear, golden sultana, and Cox's apple. Quaker Oats, golden syrup, and chocolate-covered graham crackers with cherries set the scene, though spices quickly engulf them. Perfect harmony is reestablished as it fattens out with cinnamon toffee. Bold, robust, and triumphant: just add a Dublin pub weekend crowd and you're all set.
The aromas of green mango, roasted fennel, and honeyed walnuts draw you in. White cherries, toasted corn and a hint of brown sugar envelop the tongue and linger for a while in the finish. - 2019 Ultimate Spirits Challenge (Excellent, Highly Recommended). Water, barley and maize.; 40.00%. We might be precise about the way we make our whiskey, but we're much more relaxed about how it's enjoyed. Whatever works for you is fine by us. Whether it's served neat, on the rocks or mixed, there's now more ways than ever to enjoy Powers. Our cocktails have been inspired by famous 19th century recipes to enhance and work in harmony with our distinctive flavors.
Nose: Cinnamon, clove oil and white pepper in balance with russet apples and ripe pears, on a background of charred oak.
Taste: Cinnamon, green peppers and a touch of nutmeg combined with orchard fruits, vanilla and toasted oak. All laid upon a crisp barley core. On the finish, Long Pot Still oils and spices slowly fade to rich barley, toasted wood and a wonderfully complex honey flavour.
