Speyside, Scotland - Following the successful release of Edition No. 1 and No. 2, Edition No. 3 continues the story of The Macallan's unwavering obsession with its oak casks. The Macallan's Master Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno, called on the world's most respected aroma expert to co-create Edition No. 3. Master Perfumer Roja Dove provided his remarkable expertise to chart distinctive aromas in The Macallan. Drawn from a combination of European and American oak casks, the whisky presents a sweet and fruity character.. The third release in Macallan's annual Edition series-which focuses on aspects of cask influence-was matured in a mix of European and American oak casks. Figs and apricot jam, vanilla, Jaffa oranges, and cinnamon on the nose. The palate is silky and offers a big citrus fruit hit, Bit-O-Honey, then creamy milk chocolate. Milk chocolate persists through the long, fruity finish, with attendant sweet oak.Reviewed by: Gavin Smith (Summer 2018). 48.3% ABV. Fresh fruit, vanilla and rich fruit cake with suggestions of apricot, pear and crisp green apple. Hints of ginger and cinnamon are balanced with a light resinous oak finale Liquor
