Valentin Bianchi was born in Italy in 1887. When he was 23, he left the small town of Fasano and traveled to Argentina, more precisely to San Rafael, Mendoza. Don Valentin, an educated man, a teacher by profession and a person with a solid entrepreneurial spirit, began his life project in Mendoza. In 1928, he fulfilled one of his greatest dreams: to have his own vineyard and winery which he called El Chiche, "the small winery of great wines". Don Valentin's tireless vocation was forging a family winery whose name would become a true heritage of Argentina: Bodegas Bianchi. Don Enzo Bianchi, son of Don Valentin, continued with his legacy. He established another of the great pillars of the winery: the constant search for innovation and highest quality in its wines. Don Valentin Lacrado and Bianchi Particular, emblematic labels of Argentine winemaking, were born. Don Enzo worked with his family, teaching them to carry on with the family business. In 1995 he founded a revolutionary sparkling wine production facility in Mendoza, which turned San Rafael into a wine tourism destination. Today more than 85 thousand tourists a year visit this winery. Don Enzo’s three sons, together with their cousins, the Stradella family, built this great wine family and continued the founder's legacy. Currently and with more than 90 years of history woven by four generations, the Bianchi family keeps its values intact. Their wines respect the goodness and heritage of San Rafael and show the evolution and uniqueness of the Uco Valley.
