Bodegas Chacra Pinot Noir Treinta y Dos is a red wine from Patagonia, Argentina. It balances toasted spice and mesquite notes with macerated cherry fruit, and stays fresh through a mineral-tinged finish.
Piero Incisa della Rocchetta founded Chacra in 2004 to express the climate and terroir of Mainqué in Río Negro. Farming follows biodynamic and organic principles, and they preserve ungrafted old vines. Those vines give very low yields of 1 to 1.5 kilos per plant. Grapes are picked in the early morning, selected twice, and fermented with indigenous yeasts below 68°F in small cement vats. Their wines are not filtered and age in French oak barrels.
