Charles Joguet Les Petites Roches is a red wine from Chinon in the Loire Valley of France, made from Cabernet Franc. It is the 2023 vintage. The domaine describes Les Petites Roches (Little Rocks) as one of its precocious cuvées, made to be consumed young.
Charles Joguet took over the family domaine in 1957, after leaving a budding career as a painter and sculptor. Rather than sell grapes to negociants as his family had done, he vinified each vineyard separately, convinced that separate terroirs need separate vinifications. The vineyards lie between the Loire and Vienne Rivers, including sites on the left bank of the Vienne in Sazilly. Charles has retired but still lives on the property. Kevin Fontaine now oversees the vineyards and cellars, farming thirty-six hectares of Cabernet Franc and bottling nine cuvées.
