Chateau Haut-Lariveau Fronsac is a 2019 red wine made from Merlot in the Fronsac appellation of Bordeaux, France.
Bénédicte and Grégoire Hubau came to wine from other careers, she in computing and he in chemistry, both from northern France. They bought Château Moulin Pey-Labrie in Fronsac, learned the work from their employees and neighbors, and added Château Haut-Lariveau in 1990. Their approach is natural and easygoing: they give each vine the individual care it needs rather than deciding what it should have. They often design their own equipment, including a machine that works the soil from below. In the cellar they act as observers, letting the land express itself and aiming for elegance and finesse in all their wines.
