Château Thivin's Cuvée Zaccharie is a 2022 red made from Gamay in the Côte de Brouilly appellation of France. It has a deep red color and aromas of very ripe fruit, blackcurrant and blackberry. The palate is round and warm with plenty of spice. It is pleasant now but still a little young, and can keep for 10 years.
Château Thivin's family has worked this vineyard for many generations. They farm with attention to the soil, using natural grassing, flower strips, eco-grazing by their sheep, light tilling under the vines, and regular additions of compost and natural products. Methods are adapted to each plot and the weather of the year. Their estate wines come from three main terroirs: the blue rock of Mont Brouilly, granitic soils around it, and the clay and limestone soils of Theizé.
