Champagne J. Lassalle 1er Cru Brut Rosé is a sparkling rosé from Champagne, France. It is a blend of about 70% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. The vines average 50 years old and grow in clay and limestone soils, farmed by lutte raisonnée.
Jules Lassalle founded this family-owned house in 1942 in Chigny-les-Roses on the Montagne de Reims. His wife Olga and daughter Chantal Decelle-Lassalle took over after he died in 1982, and Chantal's daughter Angéline Templier joined as winemaker in 2006. They farm sixteen hectares, all premier cru, and still use Jules' wooden basket press, vinifying each plot separately. Malolactic fermentation is allowed to finish, every bottle is riddled by hand, and all cuvées age extensively in bottle.
