Daniel Chotard Sancerre Le Chant De L'Archet Rouge is a 2019 red wine made from Pinot Noir in Sancerre, in France's Loire Valley.
Daniel Chotard and his wife, Brigitte, live in the village of Reigny, just outside Sancerre. The Chotard family has been making wine for well over two hundred years, though Daniel started out as a teacher before accepting the family vocation. He is also a gifted guitarist and accordion player. Daniel and his son Simon farm the slopes of Crezancy-en-Sancerre, where flint meets clay and Kimmeridgian limestone. They farm sustainably and treat the vines with organic composts. Daniel typically harvests later than his neighbors, which gives less of the acidity common to the appellation, and aging on the lees rounds the mid-palate.
