This 2023 Irancy is a red Pinot Noir from the village of Irancy in Burgundy, France. It is deep in color, fruity and elegant, with notes of red fruits that move toward morello cherries as the wine ages.
Domaine Benoît Cantin is a family estate where work in the vines and cellar has passed from father to son. Roger Cantin was born in 1911, his father Edmond in 1882 and his grandfather Auguste in 1849. The old farm dates back several centuries and now covers 16 hectares, mainly Pinot Noir with a little Gamay and a small share of Caesar. Benoît took over from his father Bernard in 1994, and his son Félicien is currently graduating from the Beaune Wine School, with the aim of joining the estate in a few years.
