This is a 2024 Vouvray white wine from France's Loire Valley, made from Chenin Blanc. It is one of the small quantities of Vouvray that Catherine and Pierre Breton produce each year.
The Bretons farm eleven hectares of vines in the village of Restigné, just east of Bourgueil. They received organic certification in 1991, introduced biodynamic practices in 1994, and have recently begun the three-year process of seeking biodynamic certification. Their vineyards sit on gravel, limestone, clay, schist, and yellow tuffeau. Pierre is the principal cellar master, while Catherine makes a series of cuvées under the label La Dilettante. Besides Vouvray, they make Chinon and Bourgueil, mostly from Cabernet Franc, and they are known internationally in the natural wine movement.
