Domaine de Durban Beaumes-de-Venise is a 2024 red wine from the Southern Rhône Valley in France, made from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre.
Domaine de Durban sits on a high plateau in the Vaucluse, just above the village of Beaumes-de-Venise and sheltered by the Dentelles de Montmirail. The site was once a Roman healing springs destination and a fortified farm in the Middle Ages, and has been run regularly since 1159. Jacques Leydier bought the run-down property in the 1960s, and his grandsons Henri and Philippe now run it. They farm fifty-five hectares on clay, limestone and ochre Trias soils, with pine trees breaking the mistral. The altitude brings a cooler microclimate with strong sun. They also make Gigondas and a traditional-style Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise.
