Domaine de la Cadette Bourgogne Vézelay La Chatelaine is a 2023 white wine made from Chardonnay in the Bourgogne-Vézelay appellation of Burgundy, France.
Jean and Catherine Montanet founded Domaine de la Cadette in 1987 in Saint-Père, along a small creek southeast of Vézelay. The name, meaning the youngest child, nods to Catherine, whose family's vineyards contribute to the domaine. It took ten years to clear land and replant, and Vézelay gained its own A.O.C. in 1997. They now farm thirteen hectares organically, certified since 2002, in an area where most wine is sold in bulk. Their vines grow in the Morvan on marl and limestone with clay that ranges from blue and gray to red. The climate is cooler than Chablis, and good sun exposure balances generous fruit with mineral structure.
