A generations-old family-run winery situated in the heart of the Loire Valley just east of Nantes, Domaine de la Furonniere has a dedication for crafting expressions of the land in each bottle. Passing down techniques from grandfather, to father, to son, and now led by vigneron Daniel Bonneau, the Domaine works each vintage to bring out the taste of the Loire in every sip, producing the purest expression of the land, with as little manipulation as possible. The estate is situated in the village of Landreau, South-East of Nantes, about 15 km from the Loire river. Being so close to the ocean, the vineyards benefit from a unique cooling microclimate. The terroir itself is as idyllic as land can be: touched with fossilized shells that give the Loire wines an enticing minerality, the region is also covered with quartz and silex pebbles. The microclimate and unique soils come together harmoniously, as the 50-year-old vines absorb the cool-climate air and thrive in the earth. Vineyards span almost 30 hectares, with plantings dominated by Muscadet, with smaller amounts of Gros Plant, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gamay and Cabernet.
