Domaine de l'Alliance Sauternes Esquisse is a white wine from the Sauternes appellation in Bordeaux, France. The 2023 is made from Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle.
Valérie and Daniel Alibrand started Domaine de l'Alliance in 2005, when they bought vines from Valérie's family. Daniel had been an Atlantic fisherman. They farm seven hectares in the village of Fargues, next to Château de Fargues. Their old vines give complexity but low yields of 10 to 13 hectoliters per hectare, against a Sauternes average of about 25. They began with lutte raisonnée and are now in the three-year conversion to organic certification. The name refers to the marriage of man and nature, and the salamander on the label honors the many found in their vineyard.
