Domaine des Roches Neuves Saumur Solera Blanc is a non-vintage white wine made from Chenin Blanc in Saumur, in France's Loire Valley.
Thierry Germain moved from the Gironde to the Loire in 1991 and took over Domaine des Roches Neuves in Varrains, on the outskirts of Saumur. The domaine covers 28 hectares. Over two decades his style has shifted from robust, oaked wines that echoed his Bordeaux roots to wines of purity and silky structure. The vineyard is worked with the help of three horses and has been fully biodynamic since the 2005 vintage, and the estate is certified organic. Grapes are picked by hand at peak ripeness, vinified in small batches and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Germain was named Meilleur vigneron de France by Revue des Vins de France in 2011.
