Domaine du Gros Nore Bandol Blanc is a 2024 white from Bandol in Provence, made from Ugni Blanc and Clairette. The vineyards sit on well-ventilated clay soils on sunny hillsides, which allows a later harvest than usual. The grapes spend 24 hours on their skins, and the wine is vinified at low temperatures and aged in stainless steel before bottling.
Alain Pascal runs the domaine, named for his father, Honoré. For years the family sold its Bandol fruit to Domaine Ott and Château de Pibarnon, and bottled only small amounts for themselves. Alain started Domaine du Gros 'Noré in 1997, after his father's death. With his brother, Guy, he farms sixteen hectares of clay and limestone hillsides around La Cadière d'Azur, near the Mediterranean, where the Mistral tempers the warm, sunny climate. He lets his grapes ripen fully on the vine.
