This 2014 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a red Burgundy made from Pinot Noir. The nose is complex and still young, moving from blackcurrant bud to poppies and raspberries, then on to star anise and licorice, with plenty of future ahead of it. The palate is full and very silky, with a delicate energy, harmony and almost a tenderness.
Guillaume and Aude Lavollée are the fourth generation of vignerons at Domaine Génot-Boulanger. Their wines come only from estate-owned vineyards across all three Burgundy côtes, from Chambolle-Musigny down to the domaine in Meursault and on to Mercurey. Their 22 hectares yield wine from over 30 appellations. Since 2008 they have moved to organic farming and experimented with biodynamics, following the principle of maximum work in the vineyards and minimum intervention in the cuverie.
