This 2023 Meursault 1er Cru Boucheres is a white Burgundy made from Chardonnay. The nose brings candied lemon, laurel, herbs and iodine, with some woody notes behind them. On the palate it is taut but sensual, with a fruity richness and good balance. Pleasant bitters give the finish some energy.
Guillaume and Aude Lavollée are the fourth generation of vignerons at Domaine Génot-Boulanger. Their wines come only from estate-owned vineyards, 22 hectares across all three Burgundy côtes, from Chambolle-Musigny to their home in Meursault and on to Mercurey. They make wine from over 30 appellations. Since 2008 they have moved to organic farming and experimented with biodynamics, following the principle of "maximum work in the vineyards for minimum intervention in the cuverie."
