Domaine La Tour Vieille Banyuls Reserva is a red wine from Banyuls in Languedoc-Roussillon, France, made from Grenache and Carignan. It is a non-vintage bottling from a town on the Mediterranean coast, two kilometers from the Spanish border, that is famous for its fortified wines.
In 1981, Vincent Cantié and Christine Campadieu took over two small, family-owned domaines in Collioure and Banyuls, where they had grown up. They farm steep schist terraces overlooking the sea, exposed to the Tramontagne wind, which keeps yields naturally low and the grapes free of mildew with little need for pesticides or copper sulfate. The vineyards are worked by hand, with schist canals and walls to hold back erosion, and grapes are carried out in baskets at harvest. Most of their vines are Grenache Noir.
