Domaine La Tour Vieille Cap de Creus Rancio Sec is a non-vintage red wine made from Grenache in Languedoc-Roussillon, France.
Vincent Cantié and Christine Campadieu took over two small, family-owned domaines in Collioure and Banyuls in 1981, the places where they grew up. Collioure is a seaport on the Mediterranean coast, just north of the Spanish border. Their vineyards sit on steep schist terraces overlooking the sea, where the Tramontagne wind keeps yields naturally low and the grapes free of mildew with little need for pesticides or copper sulfate. The slopes are too steep for machines, so all work is done by hand and the grapes are carried out in baskets. Besides Grenache Noir, they work with Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc, Macabeo, Syrah, and Carignan.
Enjoy it on its own before or after a meal, or use it to cook sauces, poultry, or grilled fish.
