Les Canadells Blanc is a white from the Collioure appellation on the Mediterranean coast of Languedoc-Roussillon, France. Grenache grown at low yield gives the wine body and roundness, while Macabeu and Vermentino add vivacity. The nose is fruity, with peach and white fruit aromas, and the palate is dynamic and well balanced.
Vincent Cantié and Christine Campadieu took over two small family domaines in Collioure and Banyuls in 1981. Their vineyards sit on steep schist terraces above the sea, where the Tramontagne wind keeps yields low and the grapes free of mildew with little need for pesticides or copper sulfate. Everything is worked by hand, and the grapes are carried out in baskets.
It pairs with refined fish dishes, grilled squid or octopus, and white meats in sauces. After a few years of storage, it also suits cheeses like Reblochon and Comté.
