Domaine Leccia Patrimonio Blanc is a Vermentino from Patrimonio in Corsica. It is light yellow with green reflections, and the nose shows white flowers, hawthorn and honey. The palate is fresh and long, with flint and citrus notes, and the wine comes across as elegant and racy.
Yves Leccia grew up in a small village in the heart of Patrimonio and worked beside his father in the vines and cellar. In 2004 he left the family estate he had shared with his sister to focus on E Croce, a terroir of thin chalk soil over schist that faces the gulf of St. Florent. He tends the vines and works the cellar alone, keeps yields low, and has never let his wine touch oak or allowed wood into his cellar. He is also a founding member of A Filetta, a Corsican polyphonic singing group.
