This is a 2023 white Burgundy from Auxey-Duresses, made from Chardonnay and labeled Vieilles Vignes by Domaine Prunier-Bonheur.
Pascal Prunier is the fifth generation in a family of vignerons. In 1983 he started his own domaine with his wife, Christine Bonheur, working just 3 hectares of rented vines. Today the domaine farms 8 hectares scattered through the Côte de Beaune, from Saint Romain to Beaune. Production is split equally between white and red wine, and the cellars sit on the road between Meursault and Auxey-Duresses. Prunier is known for what he gets out of relatively modest appellations. His whites are energetic and his reds calm and pure.
