Domaine Thillardon Chénas Chassignol is a 2024 red wine made from Gamay in Chénas, one of the Beaujolais crus in France.
Brothers Paul-Henri and Charles Thillardon run Domaine Thillardon. Paul-Henri began making wine in 2008 from 3 hectares and now works 12, convinced that Chénas has long been unfairly overshadowed by Moulin-à-Vent. He has farmed organically from the start, working some vineyards with a horse and using biodynamic treatments. In 2009 he met Fleurie winemakers Jean-Louis Dutraive and Yvon Métras, who mentored him. Until 2015 he partially destemmed most cuvées and followed a more Burgundian approach. He moved to semi-carbonic in 2014, and to fully cool semi-carbonic in 2015.
