Grotte di Sole Blanc is a 2024 white wine made from Vermentino in the Patrimonio appellation on the island of Corsica, France.
Jean-Baptiste Arena is the son of Corsican producer Antoine Arena and grew up at the family domaine in Patrimonio. He studied viticulture in Bastia, spent a harvest internship in Burgundy, and returned home in 2001 to join the family estate. Since the 2014 vintage, the Arena holdings have been divided evenly among Antoine, Jean-Baptiste and his younger brother, Antoine-Marie, and each now works his own favorite parcels independently. Jean-Baptiste farms 100% organically and vinifies without additions, apart from a little sulfites for the whites. He continues to vinify in the family's historic cellars, and he is building a new cellar for stocking and aging.
