In the early 1800's, Absinthe traditionally had a natural green color. In historical literature it is often referred to as "La Fee verte" or "Green Fairy". In 1875, Jacob Frederic Kubler concocted a new recipe of Absinthe verte to remain stable over time. This was a Gold Medal winner at the Swiss National Exhibition in Zurich in 1883.
