Le Petit Saint Vincent is a 2023 Saumur-Champigny from the Loire Valley in France, made entirely from Cabernet Franc. It comes from Dominique Joseph's youngest vines, just outside the village of Varrains, planted in clay and limestone soils. The wine is vinified and aged entirely in concrete.
Dominique Joseph, known to friends as "Pelo," is the fourth generation to lead Domaine Le Petit Saint Vincent. He lives in Varrains, in the heart of the appellation, with Antoine Sanzay and Thierry Germain of Domaine des Roches Neuves down the block and Clos Rougeard in the next town. The domaine farms 13 hectares, all but one planted to Cabernet Franc. Dominique has led the estate since 1990 and has farmed organically since at least then, receiving certification in 2010.
